Gugulethu Sofia Mbatha is better well-known by her stage name or screen identity Gugu Mbatha Raw. She became popular when she was cast as a character in "Doctor Who. As she entered her twenties she moved from the city of her birth to Los Angeles in order to follow her dream of acting. To support herself, Handler began to work as an actress. Handler, who was then 21, decided to focus on stand-up comedians in full-time when she discovered her story telling skills. Handler began her career in her role on the Oxygen Network's Girls Behaving Badly, a reality show with the use of a hidden camera/practical joke. The show was on the running from 2002 to. The actress was a part of other shows, such as Weekends at D.L., The Bernie Mac Show, The Practice and My Wife and Kids. Handler started working as an assistant on The Tonight Show. Handler became famous in 2006 when she hosted a show for E! named The Chelsea Handler Show. It ran for two seasons. Handler was then seen in the United States in the Comedy Central Hour Stand-Up Comedy Tour. Her stand-up performances have been shown by VH1 along with Comedy Central's Premium Blend, and HBO. In 2010, she announced that she would be hosting for the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards. As a result, she was the only female host to host the awards, following Roseanne.
